You may wish to support our work generally or by contributing funding to a particular project or activity. A few examples of the work that donations can support are:
- $10 will publish one digital resource in the Treaty Resource Centre digital reference library [there are a large number of valuable resources still to be processed]
- $40 enable one person to attend a 6 hour Treaty workshop
- $60 enables a community group to have a free consultation about how a website can help them
- $60 enables one community group to become registered with the Charities Commission [word has still not reached many Māori organisations that to have charitable status they must first be registered with the Charities Commission]
Please use the Contact us form for more information on how to support our work by donating.

Over many years, the AWEA accumulated enough funds to purchase its own building at 131A Williamson Avenue, Grey Lynn.
When the government cut off all funding to WEAs, it was increasingly difficult to maintain a large enough programme of educational activities to warrant the work required to maintain an old villa.
Therefore, the building was sold and the AWEA charitable trust was established to manage the funds. The return on that investment is partly used to maintain its real value and partly to support community education activities consistent with the Trust's objectives (same as for the incorporated society).
The ten years during which we had no funding taught us the importance of having diversified income streams. We now have a mix of earned income, grants, and koha to support the work. These funds come from national, regional and local government, other educational institutions, other community groups, philanthropic organisations, and, occasionally, individuals and the private sector. Our charges are on a sliding scale, depending on ability to pay and on the degree to which the work is 'core business'.
